蒙彼利埃是朗格多克-魯西永大區的首府和埃羅省省會，距離地中海不遠，位於與西班牙和意大利的中間地理位置，是理想的旅行選擇地。




蒙彼利埃市位於法國南部，靠近地中海，距巴黎700多公里，乘高速火車3個多小時，是通往西班牙的必經之路。蒙彼利埃是法國的第八大城市，會議大廈位居全國第三，國際聲譽來自它的大學，特別是迄今尚存的歐洲最古老的醫學院就坐落在這裡。

蒙彼利埃的建築十分出挑，城中央是法國最大的百貨連​​鎖商店拉法​​耶特，從拉法耶特前門出去就是著名的戲劇廣場以及保存完好的老城小巷，歌劇院、凱旋門、望台、古老的旱橋、石板路、羅馬式的雕塑和花園；而從拉法耶特後門出去則是仿古希臘神廟大殿、但採用現代理念建起的居民區“安提港”（Antigone） ，小區內綴以大立柱、神像、噴泉、市立圖書館、奧林匹亞國際游泳池、全開放式的露天劇場……
名勝故跡遍布在蒙彼利埃的市中心，而市中心又是步行區，因此非常適合逛街、參觀和漫遊。
戲劇廣場 La Place de la Comédie
戲劇廣場位於繁華熱鬧的市中心，是蒙蔽李藹這座城市活力與生氣的象徵。廣場上坐落著建於19世紀的仿巴黎加尼耶戲劇院（Opéra Garnier de Paris）和美惠三女神（Trois Graces）噴泉。戲劇廣場呈橢圓形，因此也被稱為“雞蛋”。廣場上更是開滿了大大小小的露天咖啡館和餐館，最適合人們消磨時光。
醫學院La Faculté de Médecine
蒙彼利埃醫學院建於1220年，是在於爾班五世（Urbain V）神甫的命令下在原本篤會修道院的舊址上建成的。18世紀時，吉拉勒（Giral）重新修建了醫學院的外觀,添加了突堞。守在入口處的兩個銅製雕像分別是蒙彼利埃市的醫學家巴爾泰斯（Barthez）和拉佩羅尼（Lapeyronie）。
聖-皮埃爾大教堂La Cathédrale Saint Pierre
聖皮埃爾大教堂是蒙彼利埃市唯一一個在宗教戰爭中沒有被完全摧毀的教堂。雖然聖-皮埃爾大教堂是哥特式建築，但是它卻只有一個大殿，使人聯想起沿海地區的羅馬式教堂的風格。兩個14世紀時期的小塔構成了門廊，位於倚著教堂建築物外表的拱頂的前方。在教堂的內部，祭壇和耳堂經過19世紀時期的重建，與14世紀時期建成的肅穆的大殿形成反差。
植物園Le Jardin des Plantes
 蒙彼利埃的植物園應亨利四世之令建於1593年，位居世界最著名的植物園之列，是法國最古老的植物園。
皇家散步場所La Promenade Royale
皇家散步場所建於18世紀，由四個花園組成，中心是正對凱旋門的路易十四王的雕塑。北面高處，設有一個造型優美的水塔，聚集著聖-克萊蒙水渠的水。從水塔處，可以欣賞到蒙彼利埃市北部的全貌以及遠處悠悠的塞文山脈。
法布爾博物館Le Musée Fabre
 建於1828年的法布爾博物館在長達4年的修復和改建之後，於2007年重新對外開放。館中陳列著戰地9000平米、數量高達800多間的藝術珍品，足以讓參觀者盡興而返。印象派的畫作以及蘇拉日的著名捐贈位於這些陳列品之中。該館始建於1825年，蒙彼利埃畫家弗朗索瓦-格扎維埃·法布爾 。展出的陶瓷從希臘和歐洲的其餘部分。 此外，該博物館收藏了大量的繪畫，從17日直到19世紀
安提港Antigone
具有新古典風格的安提港街區靠近埃古松門，改建於卡塔盧尼亞建築師赫卡都-保費羅之手，可以步行或乘坐有軌電車穿過這一區。還有一條通向大海的河穿過安提港，週末的時候，有許多人或跑步或騎車20公里，沿著河一直跑到海邊。河岸邊的草坪有十來米寬，河上有石橋，河裡常見天鵝。
奧德塞館Odysseum
奧德塞館是蒙彼利埃的休閒場所，建築靈感來自於希臘羅馬神話和奧德塞史詩，其風格新穎而現代。設有多視廳電影院、維加波利滑冰場、伽利略天文館、馬雷-諾斯特姆水族館……

法國蒙彼利埃——太陽永不西落的城市


蒙彼利埃被譽為“太陽永不西落”，他們也把這句話寫在了自己的旅遊宣傳冊上，昭告全世界。 縱使太陽真的下山了，無限的朝氣也能點亮這座大學城。
蒙彼利埃擁有10間語言學校，6萬名學生。 這裡還有西方世界最早的醫學院，至今還在培養著醫學界的人才，而且開放遊客參觀。這一切都源自於1180年，Gulhem八世的一份佈告：任何人，不論國家與宗教，都能來此教授、學習醫學相關課程。 這份佈告，就此奠定了蒙彼利埃在醫學界的地位。




人行廣場 

18世紀蒙彼利埃建造了這座廣場，其規模在當時歐洲是數一數二的。 廣場中心被畫出直徑300米的橢圓形區域，人們稱這里為“蛋”。 廣場一頭是老劇院，上邊還有一座三女神鵰像。 為避免真品損壞，現在安放的是仿製品，真品則挪到了劇院內。
老劇院其實已經是這裡修建的第三座劇院了，前兩座都因為大火而被燒毀。 劇院依舊是19世紀意大利風格，內部繪畫富麗堂皇。
人行廣場周邊則是舊城區，兩側的建築都有數百年曆史。 這些歷史建築裡不乏名人故居，著名作家莫里哀就住在這裡。
米克維（猶太教淨化池） 
淨化池的發現過程頗為懸疑。 當時當地居民抱怨空氣太潮濕，政府就來檢查，結果沒有任何漏水現象，直到發現了這個蓄滿了水的淨化池。 對照史料，才了解800年前這裡曾是猶太社區中心，這就是猶太教的淨化池。
在歐洲，發現了無數類似的淨化池，但這座是品質最好的之一。 猶太人認為，淨化池除了供人洗澡外，還有淨化心靈的作用。
因為地下室都是水，所以遊客們只能從門口和氣窗向裡望去。 這裡的水很清澈，但深不見底，常年保持15、16度。 水從地板間的間隙不斷冒出，注滿整個淨化池，但從何處流走，現在還沒​​有明確結論。 目前，這裡只開放給團體參觀。


Life of Jean-Henri Casimir Fabre

Jean-Henri Fabre's last home and office, the Harmas de Fabre (Route d'Orange 84830 Sérignan-du-Comtat ,Tel :04-90-70-00-44)in Provence, stands today as a museum devoted to his life and works.The Harmas de Fabre, also known as the Musée Harmas Jean-Henri Fabre, is a museum, botanical garden, and herbarium located on the Route d'Orange, Sérignan-du-Comtat, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. It is open daily except Wednesday in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged.The museum contains the house and the garden of naturalist and entomologist Jean Henri Fabre (1823-1915) who moved into this house in 1879, after which he devoted the rest of his life to the study ofinsects and flora. The word harmas means "fallow ground" in Provençal. In 1922 the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle acquired the site, and in 1955 nearly 700 watercolors, hand painted by Fabre, were found in attics of Harmas by his grandson. In 1998 the site was classified as a monument historique; restored by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, it opened to the public in 2006.
Today the museum contains Fabre's collections of fossils, minerals, 594 watercolors of mushrooms, manuscripts, a private herbarium of more than 20,000 specimens including plants harvested by Fabre during his stay in Corsica (1849-1852), and the small table on which his manuscripts were written, most notably the Souvenirs Entomologiques. The gardens contain 20 historic trees and over 500 plantspecies, as well as trails and a pool, and a small cold greenhouse built in 1880.

The site of his birth, at St Léons, near Millau is now the site of Micropolis, a tourist attraction dedicated to popularising entomology and a museum on his life.

The house where he was born enables you to discover the setting of his childhood life in the Rouergue. Displays tell you about his life and present his numerous works on plants, insects and other small living creatures. Interpreted visits, discovery of Saint Léons, field visits (botanical, lady-birds, migrating insects), history of the small living things in the insect garden. Events programme on request. Itinerant exhibitions: under the microscope, history of a log.
